Peer-Led Initiative Fund

Do you have an idea for an event, project, course, or anything else which would improve recovery for users of drugs and alcohol in Northamptonshire? If you do, and one of the problems you face is the funding, please read on. This may be of help.

West and North Northamptonshire councils have successfully applied for new funding to add to their existing spending on drugs and alcohol treatment and recovery services. Part of this funding has been put into a new fund, the Peer-led Initiative Fund.
This fund will support ideas, projects and events that are led by users of drugs and alcohol services in Northamptonshire, that are aimed at improving the lives and recovery of service users.

The fund is available until March 2025 and is open now. It will make awards for a minimum of £50 and a maximum of £5000. The project must be completed, and monies spent by March 2025. Proof of expenditure and receipts will be required.

Upon an application being submitted, a decision will be made as quickly as possible as to whether the grant will be awarded. An explanation will be provided to unsuccessful applicants. The decision will be made by a panel made up of representatives from different agencies.
If you have an idea that you would like funding for, you can ask for help and support, if you wish, from the agency you are working with, or from another.
This is a new fund and it will be closely reviewed to ensure it is meeting its aims. Consequently there may be changes to the fund over time.
