Peer-Led Initiative Fund Aims and Examples
By supporting a holistic range of community activities, the Recovery Initiative Fund aims to:
- Strengthen the local recovery community.
- Promote pathways into treatment.
- Improve recovery outcomes.
- Improve retention of people in treatment.
- Empower people with lived experience to support others in the recovery journey.
- Tackle stigma associated with substance misuse.
- Foster collaboration between recovery groups and treatment and recovery providers
- Incentivise both peer-led and peer-delivered approaches to recovery & amplify support.
The following are examples of what the recovery pot might cover:
Peer-led Outreach and Engagement:
- Enable those with lived experience to conduct outreach initiatives.
- Develop and distribute educational materials on recovery resources.
- Organize community outreach events and awareness campaigns.
Access to Recovery Groups:
- Facilitate transportation to and from recovery group meetings.
- Promote awareness and accessibility of various recovery group meet-ups.
Community Events:
- Organize targeted recovery-based events.
- Hiring venues and equipment.
- Incentivising attendance through vouchers or other commonly used methods
Wellness activities:
- Sports events.
- Recreational activities.
