On May 24th the annual ‘Heads Up’ tournament was held at Sixfields. Teams from Recovery House (Rushden), St Andrews, NTFC in the community, Thomas Rehab (Blackburn) and Bridge all attended, with 8 teams taking part.
Each team played each other once, with the top 4 progressing to the semi finals.
Bridge were 1 of these teams, and beat St Andrews 2-1, to go to the final v Recovery House, last year’s winners.
After a close contest, Bridge got a last minute goal to win 1-0 and take the trophy home.
It was a pleasure to spend the day with so many amazing people, all friendly and supportive of each other, with many of those in recovery.
Particularly proud of our lads who showed that being a good ‘team’ was most important, and everyone played their part in our first ‘Heads Up’ win.
The most important part of the day to us was that people enjoyed their day – win, lose or draw, and we’re sure they did.
A huge thank you as always to Russell Lewis and his team for putting on a special day for everyone, and to everyone that took part.
Pictured is the winning team, and Matt who picked up a well-deserved player of the tournament award!
Congratulations!
