Health and Wellbeing day

What a fantastic day in Northampton organised by Wellbeing West Northants!

The Health Check Day at Bridge was a resounding success, with a wide range of brilliant services coming together to support the community.

From start to finish, the event was busy and full of positive engagement, with many attendees sharing how valuable and worthwhile the experience was for them.

We were proud to hold space for a variety of free health services, open to both our members and the general public.

Attendees had the opportunity to connect with professionals from dental services, liver screening, S2S (Substance to Solution), sexual health teams, and opticians—all in one place.

We look forward to more days like this—where collaboration, care, and community come together for better health and wellbeing.

Foraging Events

Bridge members from Northampton and Wellingborough enjoyed a brilliant day of bushcraft with the wonderful team at Tellus Mater. Set in a peaceful rural location, the day offered the perfect balance of learning, nature, and connection.

Members took part in a hands-on workshop where they learned how to whittle safely and use knives with confidence and care.

As part of the session, they created their own tent pegs and beautifully crafted walking sticks—complete with hooks designed to help reach fruit from trees and hedgerows.

Everyone embraced the challenge and came away with new skills and a real sense of achievement.

The weather couldn’t have been better—pleasantly warm with a light breeze, ideal for spending the day outdoors. We were also lucky enough to meet some one-day-old chicks and received a generous gift of duck eggs from the farm, which were later used in the Northampton kitchen to make a delicious lunch for our members.

Speaking of food, a big thank you goes to Tellus Mater for preparing a fantastic lunch that kept everyone fuelled and smiling throughout the day.

It was a truly special experience, filled with learning, laughter, and the simple joy of being out in nature. A heartfelt thank you to Tellus Mater for hosting such a meaningful day for our members.

Bridge have taken part in multiple sessions with Tellus Mater and will continue to do so moving forward.

Equine Therapy

Wow what an amazing day last Thursday for members and staff at Equine Therapy with Emma Leckieat Live Love Be
Starting the day off walking in the therapeutic spiral, taking a quiet moment of reflection, walking round to release negativity and take on board positivity as we were leaving the spiral.
We then went to meet some of the horses and give them a good fuss and grooming session. This included a very cheeky donkey called Basil who decided that he wanted to investigate pockets and even try to nibble on a walking stick!
Members were able to bond with the horses including one horse coming away with new sets of braids to their hair.
At lunchtime we went to the Magic Wood and enjoyed a picnic while Emma read the story of the Crescent Moon Bear for everyone to enjoy. Followed by exploring spirit animal cards and the messages they had for everyone.
Towards the end of the day we got to engage in some art therapy, everyone getting to pick out symbols to paint onto the horses for them to carry forward with them. Then in turn members got to spend some alone time with their chosen horse, connecting with them and focusing on the messages they may have for them.
It was a glorious day in the sunshine at Mill Farm and was enjoyed by all.

Wellingborough Fun Day

What a fantastic time at our Welli Fun Day!
The sun was shining and it was hot.
As tradition goes, we took part in many games, including Egg & Spoon, Welly Wanging, Three legged race, Volley Ball, Badminton and Rounders!
We sat for a picnic and got right back to playing games again!
It was a great day, with laughter shared and new memories made.
We ended our day with one last game of Rounders and a funny request for musical statues- ending with Dave & Shona in a dance off!
Thank you to everyone who attended- we hope you enjoyed yourself and we look forward to our next event with you all!
A special thank you to our volunteer Caroline for helping with shopping and preparing the food!
Not to forget our wonderful Recovery Workers who ran the day and made it special- a big well done!
