April updates 2025
Equine Therapy
A group of our members from Northampton enjoyed a wonderful day out in the sunshine on Friday, 4th April, as they spent the day with Live Love Be Equine Therapy. From the moment they arrived, there were smiles all around as members had the chance to connect with the horses through grooming, fussing, and simply spending peaceful time alongside them. Mooch the dog, ever the star of the show, also made sure to receive plenty of love and attention!
The day wasn’t just about the horses — it was a truly holistic experience. Members shared a relaxed lunch around the campfire, enjoying warm food, good conversation, and the calming presence of nature. There was also a sage cleansing session, helping to create a sense of calm and inner peace, allowing everyone to fully embrace the healing spirit of the
day.
Therapeutic art activities gave members the opportunity to express themselves creatively, offering another outlet for reflection and connection. What made the day even more special was seeing friendships begin to blossom. Before the trip, many of the members had not previously spoken to each other, but by the end of the afternoon, there was a
real sense of community and support. Watching them laugh, chat, and share stories was a beautiful reminder of the power of shared experiences and the importance of connection on the recovery journey. It truly was a day to remember — one full of new friendships, healing moments, and lasting smiles, and as always we are so
grateful to Emma and her horses for another magical day.

Mental Health Workshops
We were delighted to welcome Mindscape to all three Bridge sites — Wellingborough, Corby, and Northampton — to deliver a serie sof inspiring mental health workshops. Covering Regulating Mental Health and Stress, Cognitive Restructuring, and Compassion, the sessions gave members practical tools to manage their wellbeing and build emotional resilience.
The workshops encouraged members to explore how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected, and how small changes in thinking can lead to positive outcomes. Feedback from members was fantastic, with many describing the sessions as insightful, empowering, and helpful for their recovery journeys.
A huge thank you to Mindscape for supporting our community.
Allotment – Wellingborough

April was a busy month at the Allotment!
We started off our Sunflower seeds for the annual Sunflower Competitition, they’ve had a growth spurt throughout the month, but it’s still neck and neck. The Purple sprouting Broccoli is looking great, we’ve picked some and planted many more seeds and we have lots of seed coming up. We have also planted Potatoes and extended our planting area. The Pumpkin plants are doing very well, the Strawberries have flowered and the Rhubarb is looking fantastic.
We Will be planning an open day soon, we hope to see you all there.

Wombles – Northampton

In Northampton Every Thursday at 11:00am Our Bridge Wombles go out into the community for a bit of fresh air, a chat and of course to collect some litter and help make our local area cleaner and tidier. There’s been some great turn outs this week, which has probably been helped by the ever improving weather. On April 24th we were even joined by a special guest, Izzy from BBC radio came along and was speaking to members about their recovery journeys.
If you’d like to come along on one of our wombling outings then please do, all members are welcome.
