Annual Bridge Camping Trip
On October 1st, members attended our annual camping trip at Woodford Halse, hosted by Lizzie at Tellus Mater.
When we arrived at around 3pm, we set about putting up the two bell tents. This was a great display of teamwork, with every member getting involved and helping to get the tents erected.
Once the camp was set up, we arranged the chairs around the fire pit and collected plenty of wood for the expected cold night ahead.
As always, Lizzie looked after us. She had baked several cakes and provided tea and coffee, as well as everything we needed for a BBQ. Once the BBQ was lit, the sausages and burgers being cooked, with a member taking the lead in preparing the food and making sure everyone was well fed.
The day seemed to fly by. As the sun went down, we gathered around the fire pit to keep warm, share stories and enjoy plenty of laughter. There is something relaxing about sitting around a fire, socialising together. A few members did a fantastic job of keeping the fire going well into the night.
Although it was a chilly night, everyone benefited from spending time outdoors. We all went to bed feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
After waking the following morning, we all sat down and enjoyed breakfast before packing everything away and setting off back to Gold Street.
