On July 5th Bridge held their summer table tennis tournament at Bridge Northampton, and it was our most attended tournament to date. 27 players from around the County entered, and many more members watched the tournament unfold. The tournament was organised into 3 groups of 9 players, so every player got a minimum of 8 games. Group stages were first to 11, with many fixtures managed by players themselves. The top 2 of each group and the best two 3rd places went through to the quarter final, which was then a knockout format. This lead us to our final which was contested by Mick and Colin their first meeting against each in a final. The game was best out of 5, Colin took a 2 nil lead but Mick pulled 2 games back, the last game was eventually won by Colin.
We always look forward to tournament days, the atmosphere in Bridge is amazing and its great to see a good standard of table tennis in a friendly environment. Well done to everyone who took part and made the day what it was.
