Bridge Members went foraging on the 24th of May.
A really good event and all members got a lot out of it today. We left Bridge in 3 cars with a lunch pack up. Travelled to Woodford Halse. We completed a 4 mile circular walk around the beautiful nearby village countryside with our foraging expert LIzzy Farmer who explained the local ecology and pointed out and helped us collect edible vegetation and mushrooms.
All members engaged and showed interest. A very useful activity which will help make our walks more interesting and help members connect with their local countryside. Lizzy was informative, friendly and had excellent people skills so that everyone on the walk felt involved.
We completed our walk, sat down for our picnic and had Lizzy’s home made several flans and home made bread using the foraged plants that we had been collecting which was lovely. A great activity and thoroughly recommended for all mobile members.
